This week saw more demolition. The door opening in the back wall of the Ambulatory was formed and brickwork removed at the edges of the roof. A dwarf wall was built across the width of the Hall to support the precast concrete beams forming the new floor.
The underfloor ducts are ready to be laid and the services run in them.
The nature of the ground below one of the steel columns for the Ambulatory roof is being investigated as it is the wall of the old underground boiler room which is beneath the Ambulatory and was filled with hardcore when it was built over.
