The recently retired Vicar, the Revd. John Russell, came to Little Gaddesden in 2010 and retired in 2025. Shortly after his appointment here, he wrote:

Formally a musical instrument restorer of the violin family, specialising in the double bass, I studied for the Ministry at Ripon College, Cuddesden, near Oxford. Ordained deacon in 1995 and priested in 1996, I served my title as Assistant Curate in Newport Pagnell, with Lathbury and Moulsoe. After this I was priest in charge of Wing with Grove and Mursley Deanery Youth Chaplain, later becoming Area Dean. More recently, I was Assistant Priest at St Peter’s Berkhamsted and am now Vicar of Great Gaddesden, Little Gaddesden and Nettleden within the Berkhamsted Team Ministry.
