Notices

Tuesday Morning Coffee and Cake

Tuesday morning’s Coffee and Cake sessions are in the Thomas Field Hall – Tuesdays from 10:30am to 12:00 noon. Any enquiries to Hilary Catchpole at h.catchpole@btinternet.com .

Music in the Life of – John Russell

Monday October 9th at 7pm in the Thomas Field Hall, Little Gaddesden. An evening of music, memories, and – just possibly – revelations, in which the Rev John Russell discusses the music that has meant the most to him, and why he gave up making violins to enter the ministry. He may even play the fiddle.  Lauren Laverne will be played by Roger Bolton, and any resemblance to Desert Island Discs is purely accidental.  Refreshments will be provided and a collection taken for the church.

Douglas Adams’ Memorial Walk for Prostate Cancer UK

Douglas Adams Memorial Walk in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.  Doug was a founder member of the Little Gaddesden Walking Group (LGWG) and a walk in his memory will take place on THURSDAY 12TH OCTOBER.  The walk (easy to moderate) is of some 11kms and takes in Ivinghoe Beacon, Pitstone Hill, and Aldbury Nowers.  Meet at the Car Park at the Bridgewater Monument at 0930hrs, ready to depart at 0945hrs. The Walk concludes at The Greyhound in Aldbury.  Walk back up to retrieve cars after lunch.  If you wish just to come for lunch (1245hrs), and/or have any questions, please let Anthony Archer know on aw.archer@btinternet.com – 07721 504125 – otherwise just turn up at the start!  There is a fundraising page which can be found at www.justgiving.com/page/drfamemorialwalk2023. All are welcome, not just LGWG regulars!  We look forward to seeing you!
