Notices

Tuesday Morning Coffee and Cake

Tuesday morning’s Coffee and Cake sessions are in the Thomas Field Hall – Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12 noon. Any enquiries to Hilary Catchpole at h.catchpole@btinternet.com .

Service of Prayer & Reflection

There will be a service of Prayer & Reflection for Peace, Justice and Reconciliation in the World on Sunday 9th November at 6pm. All welcome.

Cafe Church on Sunday 17th November

There will be a special community-themed Cafe Church on Sunday 17th November at 9am at which Roger Bolton will give an introduction to his new book about the LG Churchyard and its graves, including those of a witch, a spy and the sister of a German officer who tried to blow up Hitler. Roger will be leading a short tour of the churchyard after the service. Copies of the book will be available at a price of £10. All profits will go to the church.

British Humanitarian Aid Gift Service

Following his latest trip to the Ukraine Philip Edmonds will be spending a brief spell in the UK before going back once again to take more of our donated items in time for Christmas.  We have arranged with Philip to come to Little Gaddesden for the 9.00am Service on the 8th December which is our annual ‘gift service’; he will collect all the much-needed items we are able to give. Please take this opportunity to give generously to those in desperate need in the Ukraine, suffering major hardship as the result of Russian aggression. Philip will be attending our Church service on the 8th and will have his van parked by the church for us to load our donations; if you are willing to help by bringing your donations to church on the morning of the 8th that will be great, but if easier for you to bring things to church in advance, then you can leave them by the font in the day or two prior to the Sunday. Anything you donate should be bagged robustly and clearly labelled identifying the content, for example bed linen, adult ladies’ clothing, adult men’s clothing, children’s clothing etc. Further details will follow so do look out for any up-dates and put the date in your diary.

Midweek Discussion Group

The Midweek Discussion Group meets on Wednesday evenings.

Please contact Barbara Sheard at barbara@sheard.com with any questions.

Regular Giving

If you normally give weekly in church, you may like to consider paying direct through your bank account.    Click or tap here to visit the Donate Page to find out more. For those who do give this way, tokens to signify you have donated by this method are available on entry to the church, and they can be placed in the collection bag at the appropriate time.

Pay by Text

We now have the facility to donate to Little Gaddesden church by text. Just text LITTLEGADD plus the amount you want to donate (between £1 and £20) to 70470, for example ‘LITTLEGADD10’ to donate £10.

Texts will cost the amount donated plus one standard rate message.

The Little Gaddesden Charities

The funds of The Little Gaddesden Charities are there to help and support those in financial need in the parish, especially at times when budgets are under particular pressure.

We also support young people in their endeavours, as well as the bereaved.

Please apply in confidence to the Vicar, The Revd. John Russell  vicar@littlegaddesdenchurch.org.uk (01442 214898).
