Notices

Coronavirus

We have resumed congregational worship for our three parishes and will gradually introduce more services in each of the churches over the coming weeks as conditions allow.

Restrictions of which you will be familiar from before Christmas remain:

  1. Social distancing from those not in your household or care bubble, must be maintained.
  2. Face masks must be worn at all times in church.
  3. Please use the hand cleanser at the door.
  4. We will not be able to join in with the singing of the hymns.
  5. Holy Communion will be distributed in a safe manner in one kind only.
  6. After the service you must disperse and not stay in church to have a catch up.

Café Zoom

Tuesday morning’s Coffee and Cake sessions are now online. We are getting together virtually by Zoom on Tuesdays from 10:30am to 12:00noon. Contact Hilary Catchpole at h.catchpole@btinternet.com, preferably a day or so beforehand, to ask for joining details for this week’s Café Zoom. You’ll need to make your own coffee…and bring your own cake!

Review of Electoral Roll

The Review of our Electoral Roll is now underway ready for completion at the end of March.  Please check the list in the church and make any amendments necessary.  If you would like to be added to the Roll, please complete the form and return to our Electoral Roll Officer, Terri Adams on pcc.secretary@littlegaddesdenchurch.org.uk

APCM

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting will now take place via Zoom and not in church.  The date has changed to Thursday 22nd April at 7.00pm. Invitations to the meeting will be sent out nearer the time.

National Day of Reflection – Tuesday 23rd March

On Tuesday, 23rd March there will be a National Day of Reflection marking the anniversary of the first Covid Lockdown.  Those who have died during the Pandemic will be remembered with prayers.  There will be short services in Little Gaddesden and Great Gaddesden at 11.45am followed by a minute’s silence at 12 Noon.

That evening, everyone is encouraged to light up their doorsteps in Reflection.

Midweek Discussion Group on Zoom

The Midweek Discussion Group meeting via Zoom on Wednesday evenings are now under way.

The sessions start with a general welcome chat to hear how everyone is getting on, then some discussion often centred around a Bible passage, with a short time of prayer at the end.  Everyone will be considered to be fully present if they have signed in, but there is no need to say or share anything.  You can spend the whole time ‘mute’ if you wish!

There are the usual protocols about confidentiality, as anything shared must be respected as being confidential to the group. All are welcome, but if inviting others please contact Anthony first.

The next ‘meetings’ are as follows:

  • 24 March            (to be decided)
  • 31 March            Holy Week (to be decided)

Sign-in is at 19.55 hrs and the sessions end at 9.30pm sharp.  The Zoom invitation is sent a few days beforehand, usually with some background material.

Please contact Anthony Archer on anthony.archer@bridgewaterassociates.co.uk or 07721 504125 with any questions
