This update is coming sooner than we imagined. The Church of England has released the following statement:
In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice.
Little Gaddesden Church is generally open during the daytime as usual, but no public worship services are taking place either on Sundays or midweek. Just about all other church activities have also been cancelled until further notice, including bellringing practices and events, choir practices and Tuesday coffee mornings.
The Calendar on the church website has been updated to show the cancellations. Of course, if the situation changes for the better, events will be reinstated. But that doesn’t look likely for the immediate future.
